Uh, yes, can I also get a 2,000 mile extension cord to go along with that please?!

Not sure how useful a vehicle that only goes 25 mph, and has a range of 50 miles is. Plus, its ugly as hell!
But its a start to something better I'm sure.

Re: Possible Astro/Safari replacement
Here I expose ya'll to a Demo or is that Rep solution and all I get is thumbs down takers.
Guess I'll just have to stick with my 2002 Safari, 400 mile travel range, 18 highway, 15 pulling the trailer.
Just think, with that electric Van, I could pull my trailer 15 miles before a recharge. At least I'd have a place to sleep while it's being charged up for the next 15 miles. Sounds like a real bargain to me (when I get RICH).

They keep banging on about how clean electric is but unless its hydro or wind turbine electric its doing damage to the ozone just the same as petrol, when everyone switches to electric they will just raise the price of that the same as they do now with the gas.
In the Uk i can buy wind turbine electric it costs a little more but i can sleep at night knowing that i'm doing my bit for the worlds health, but how does it get to my house? it must come down the same wire mixing with old that dirty electric...they must think we are suckers...Johnny

Looks like it's fresh off the boat from China. I'm surprised the company isn't called GMChevy with an Astrofari label on the van. Besides, you'd never cram 31" tires into those wheel wells.

Re: Possible Astro/Safari replacement
Pacific Power here in WA gives us the option to buy "clean" electricity... for a price. I just read the pitch again the other day when the electric bill came. They say by paying the premium, it helps them invest more in clean wind generated electricity. But what they fail to mention is that the majority of WA & OR electricity comes from hydro-electric, which is already clean!mattblackratbus wrote:In the Uk i can buy wind turbine electric it costs a little more but i can sleep at night knowing that i'm doing my bit for the worlds health, but how does it get to my house? it must come down the same wire mixing with old that dirty electric...they must think we are suckers...Johnny
But it gets better... WA has mandated that a certain percentage of the electricity be generated by "clean" sources by a certain date... but they don't count the hydro-electric generated electricity in that mix. WTF?! (If they did, we would probably already have met the goal... maybe that is the problem.)
China is building new hydro-electric dams at a record pace, yet some of our elected officials want to remove all of ours to protect the salmon. Give me a break!...
