Is SEMA open to the general public? I thought you had to be somebody important to get in. I would love to go, I just didn't think it was an option.

no, it's not open to the general public unfortunately. you have to be affiliated to the automotive industry somehow to get in. although there is a huge amount of cars around the outside of the convention center which anyone can walk up to and enjoy. that alone would be worth it if you were planning on going to vegas around sema time.......

I work for a new car dealer, do you think that might be good enough for me to get tickets?

I don't think 'crashing' SEMA would be too hard. I looked into it a few years back and you basically just need to be affilliated with the aftermarket auto industry. At the time, I figured I could set up my own aftermarket parts company 'shell' to get in.

It certainly is a show I'd LOVE to get into!! :bounce: :bounce:

they'd probably have to fill out the app. on your behalf.....but that would be good enough. i'm sure if you fill it out ureself and used the name of a new car dealer and then they saw your personal address then they may flag it.......just in case is all......

although check into it as well.....i'm sure the deadline for pre reg. is up as it's a couple weeks away now....just means u'll have to pay a bit more to get in....if ure doing this then i recommend booking ure flight and hotel quick as well.....prices tend to go up even more so than convention time prices the closer u get to the date of travel.....

I looked into it and filled out an online registration, but then I looked at the show dates and I can't make it anyway. Maybe next year...
