HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE LOWER DUTCH DOORS?

Hi everyone, i was hoping you could help me, i'm trying to remove my lower dutch doors and notice that the hinge is welded to the van body and the door, i have tried to remove the pins but they won't budge, what is the correct way to go about this task?
I thought i would ask before moving onto the bigger hammer ..thanks in advance..John

You can heat the hinge with a welding torch while an assistant using a long punch hits upwards.

Or you can cut the pins with a thin hacksaw blade in between the two halves of the hinge.

Neither way is easy.

If you have no way to heat the hinge, take my word for it,,,I used a 3lb hammer and it took some heavy swings to drve the pins out. ](*,)

Ok guys thanks, i do have a brazing torch so i will give it a go, and i may even use the 3lb club hammer as well..John

eastwood makes a tool for doing this. i dont know how good it works

It bends and doesn`t work for Crap....!

Put some Kroil on the hinge and let it work for a day or two.........
then try smacking with a healthy renewed attitude

By the way,,you'll probably have to remove the bumper so you'll have enough room for those swings of the hammer. ](*,)
