I got this entire sunroof assembly out of a Junk Yard for 15 Bucks.
First I removed all the interior trim so that the headliner could come out.
Then I made a Cardboard Template of the sunroof.
Then centered and traced the opening with a marker onto the roof like so.
Using my dryer venting 4 1/2 inch hole saw (over kill) I cut my pilot hole and using air sheers, continued to cut out my template. Luckly there were no cross braces.
After cleaning the sealing surfaces of the roof and sun roof. I purchased a roll of butel (?) tape from a local paint and body shop supply store. Dropped the sun roof in and installed the lower half. The Upper Frame of the sun roof actually Pinches the roof skin with the lower frame.
As you see I didn't get it exactly centered. It's a lot of summer fun. It doesn't leak either and I've had a lot of fun with it. Plus I've only got about $30 in the whole thing.
