Try clicking on the "AstroSafariVans.com" logo in the upper left. That's how I get to the main page. (I seem to recall it doesn't work with certain skins though...)

Re: Van of the month - nominations wanted
Very nice.
Is there a write up of the reflector turn signal mod?
Am I understanding that the back spacing of only one rim was modified so the slider will clear the wheel? Does this wheel not get rotated?
Do you pics of the recovery points on the front crossmember and the clearancing of the wheel wells?

Re: Van of the month - nominations wanted
Thanks everyone. My brother looked at the site last night and ask, "Are you trying to fool everyone into believing you live in that house"? So, just to clear that up, I don't live in that house. That's an estate that was bought by Orange County and turned into a public park. Cherie and I wanted to use it just for photographing the van.
Skippy, no, not in the V8 club yet. The 4.3 still runs too good to justify the swap. The V8 will happen some day. The wheels are real "old school". I've had them for about 30 years. They were going on a project that never materialized. They got put on a shelf and just sat there until I discovered the van had the same bolt pattern. I had to laugh. I was looking at a Summit catalog and over the picture of that same wheel was a big, in red letters, "NEW".
Aaron, no picture post on the lighted reflectors. It's real simple. Just pop the reflector out of the bumper cover. With a sharp exacto knife cut the back out so a twist in dash light socket will fit. Then wire them to the turn signals. The right rear wheel was the only one modified. So, you're right, it does not get rotated. I've put two sets of tires on the van and the wear pattern is so good they don't need to be rotated. I do, however, vary the tire pressures from 25 to 35 PSI. I run them for a couple of months at each pressure and that's the reason for the good wear pattern. I'll post some pics of the shackles sometime soon.

Damn I hate when you have something all written to be posted and hit some friggin' key and lose it all. [-o<
Anyhow nice write-up on the truck Skip and glad to see Cherie doing her best soft sell in the last few pics. However this was not enough to distract from the fact that the passenger door bottom needs attention.. [-X
All the estate type scenery and beautious woman poses can't hide the fact you have work to do .......just ribbin'
Love the fat tire/wheel set-up =D>

Re: Van of the month - nominations wanted
I bumped the door on a fence. ](*,) It needs to be tweeked a bit. Those two small dents in the rear door need to be fixed also. They were there when I bought the van. You can't see the small dent in the right front fender. Thanks go to a suicidal deer in Del Rio, Texas. Always something. #-o But that's what these vehicles are all about. If it were perfect I'd have to sell it and get another one to work on.
