Hi everyone, long time no post.
Me and danny went to the strip last night over here at national trails. we all test and tuned for a while. I ran my 383 96' astro and he ran his 82' fullsize silverado that I just put a crate 350 in last week end. the weather was very bad according to dannys hand heald barometric reader. he said we would run slow all night. well here was my best run for the night.
R/T....120
60'...2.231
330...6.529
1/8...10.116
MPH...68.53
1000...13.238
1/4...15.887
MPH...86.05
My goal for the night was to hit 15.9 at the quarter, and I finally did on the fourth run. this was my fist time running the quarter mile so I am not very good at reaction time yet(the above time was the best of the night). I think danny's best run of the night with the truck was 17.1 with a reation time of .006! he has been racing his hole life so thats my excuse. hehe. let me know what yal' think.

first time down the strip with the van
96' Chevy Astro Cargo. Custom paint. 5.7 Vortec motor stroked out to a 383ci. 17" wheels Dad stripped it.

Sounds like a solid run. As for the lights, leave on the last yellow. Early, late or dead on will be trial and error. I never had anything fast, so as soon as the last yellow started to glow, I'd hit it. You may have to wait until it's bright, or later.
That van can make it on looks alone, I'd drive it even with a v6.
