Cigarrete lighter female end came out
It looks like it screws into a part that's behind the engine cover. How do I remove the cover to do this?

I realize yours is a 2000 but these intructions ( for up to 95 ) should at least get you started in the right direction ( I hope,lol )

It's even easier on the newer ones. Remove the tin screw covers on either side of the console, Undo the 2 torx screws that the caps are hiding. Loosen up the 2 nuts underneath the console. No need to remove them completely as the supports are slotted. Now just work your way around the console loosening it off. it has clips ( 2 IIRC) like what hold the door/ trim panels on and things like that. Once you have unseated the clips just slide it up ( this is why the supports are slotted) and away far enough you can reach behind to undo the wire harness.
No need to mess with the knee bolsters and dash trim on these ones.
