Gas Gas & a Husaberg
Had a great time the other weekend. My father in law rented a vacation house in Lake Chelan for a week again this year. My wife Jen (aka The Jenerator) and I took Friday off and drove out there together, then I stayed the weekend and went back home for the work week while she stayed with her fam.
Well, her brother Jason brought his Gas Gas 450 fse dual sport for me to ride and his riding buddie's Husaberg 450 dual sport for himself to ride.
Now its been about 30 yrs since I really spent anytime on a dirt bike. And while these are street legal and license plated dual sports, make no mistake about it; they are dirtbikes.
We rode 3 1/2 hours Friday and then again Saturday. Up into the mountains. In an hour we went from 1100ft eleveation to 5780.
I was pretty rusty, but by the end of the first day I was half way confident again.
I had so much fun I'm buying his Gas Gas Saturday. (Fuel injected 450 @ less than 250lbs:D )
Yeah, these are the only pics. Really no place to tuck a camera when wearing full gear.

Re: Gas Gas & a Husaberg
When I read Gas Gas, I got excited to see some trials action..... But dual sports are great too. (I need one of them too.....)
But really, no other pics Tom? You are slipping!

Ha ha! I know, I know. But honestly, I never take pics when biking or paddling. Its just not easy to stop and shoot.
I'm buying it tomorrow. I'll have to bring it over and we can do some LT Murray or something.

Cool bikes btw
Hmm, they are getting cheaper everyday, aren't they.
Here's the technological marvel of a dual sport that J is going to buy tomorrow: Very interesting. (J says that Husaberg is KTM's unofficial R&D department; Husa does something then 2 yrs later you see it on a KTM.

Re: Gas Gas & a Husaberg
Got out Sunday with a co-worker in the general area known as Wickersham Truck Trail. It overlooks Lake Whatcom from the east side, has power lines running over it, and is a loggin operation. I've seen a black cougar up there before, and I don't mean a Mercury, I'm talking quadraped with protruding bicuspids. I live about 3 minutes from the western shore of the lake, but it still takes me 30 minutes to get to the trail head parking around the east side. The lake is 14 miles long.
We both just wanted to spend time on the bikes, not push the envelope at all. I'm pretty conservative in my old age. It wa perfect. Dropped the bike 3 times, I thikk, on steep hills etc. Dropped it as oppoesed to laying 'er down. No biggie.
Got a couple of pics just to 1) keep my reputation alive? or 2)keep Matt of my back?

Re: Gas Gas & a Husaberg
I gotta say, my wife did infact encourage the purchase of the bike. However, she's not thrilled about the 3 or 4 new internet forums that naturally come with dual sport ownership.

That's a great wife you have there Tom... I've been trying to prime mine to allow me to buy an old (66-77) Ford Bronco and am not having a whole lot of luck... (She's OK with a boat though.....)
