Here you go Liz ( and anyone else interested ) As Justice mentioned earlier ,its not so much the equipment but the photographer that decides the pic... http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/notcamera.htm
I suggest you bookmark Rockwells site, he has one of the better sites on web with everything to do with both film and digi photography, he'll most likely also have an in depth review of your camera.

Re: Camera Help
Liz, 1st off congrats on the 1yr anniversary, 2nd... Do you have a online photo hosting site ( like photobucket? ) if not, get one. It doesn't have to be P.B just any that'll allow you to link to pics.
Re: Camera Help
Congrats on the 1st year as well!
I use flickr. There are other services like google / picasa and foki and so on.
I think the largest one is photobucket followed by flickr. Flickr has more amateur like photographers so if you want to browse photos and learn, flickr is the way

Re: Camera Help
I do have a photobucket account. Haven't used it in about a year or so. I will try to figure out my password tomorrow when I get home from work. I am off to bed now. Long day, school and then work. Just got home so I am exhausted.

Re: Camera Help
Yes, D90 is a good over all camera. I got two of my co-workers into the D90 world. One who shoots with the 18-200VR and will get the 60mm macro. The other went with kit lens (18-105mm) + 75-300mm + 50mm.
Basically the D100 is just plain old. The AF speed is slow, chip color has been improved since then and you risk non-warranty work on mechanism and sensor.
Honestly all dSLRs are good. Some are better than others but it is the system that counts. For average shooters (aka non-profit making) get what you like. What you like should include the feel of the camera, ease of use and yes aesthetics (spelling?).
I think we just hi-jacked Liz's thread (sorry).
Post up some photos soon!
