need some advice here.

Post by dj_joker_2002 »

I bought a 4 x 8 flat bed trailer and I wish to build a box trailer out of it.
Now I know how to build it out of wood but how do I seal it so I can keep my DJ equipment in it when not in use. Now remember I live in New Hampshire
and we have snow and ice and rain and all that crappy weather. Oh and I'm not rich either so any ideas are open to discussion Mark.

I would glue the joints, and as advised above, fibreglass the exterior, then paint as UV will degrade the fibreglass.

I don't know much about building trailers, but the guys over at http://www.ExpeditionPortal.com are always building custom stuff.

as i'm a sheetmetal worker, i'd build it out of wood then cover it in galvanized steel attached by metal roofing screws (with the rubber washers)

I was just wanted to post that I have no knowledge for building a trailer and that Red Green would do a better job at it than me.

Just curious how are you going to have sure someone cannot break into it or tow it off easily!?

I would think fiberglassing is a good idea.

no one will know anything is in it, and its easy to lock the ball attachment so no one can hook on to it. thank you all for the advise. I was thinking the fiberglass idea but wasn't sure. Mark

I you want to go as cheap as possible the deck coat or Rhino liner would seal it up but it wouldn't look as good as fiberglass.
