Re: Air Bag Light on
This is not an answer about the airbag light. Just a suggestion. If you buy a scanner or just a code reader it will pay for itself the first time you need to use it. These days it can be the handiest tool in the box.

I have a normal scanner............thought it is still like a $1000 for the air bag/antilock unit?Smiliesafari wrote:This is not an answer about the airbag light. Just a suggestion. Re: Air Bag Light on
Air bags and ABS are 2 separate items. They are not controlled by the same module. I don't think a cheap scanner can read the air bag codes...at least mine doesn't.

Dean is correct on this. Most inexpensive generic scanners just read the powertrain codes.LiftedAWDAstro wrote:Air bags and ABS are 2 separate items. They are not controlled by the same module. I don't think a cheap scanner can read the air bag codes...at least mine doesn't.
Unfortunately for you, the specialized equipment is needed to read these airbag codes - no way around it.
