enduro video: don't post it?

Post by T.Low »

My brother in law and I had another great weekend riding thru the mountains. We rode thru the mountains from one town to another for lunch and refueling then rode back a slighly different route.

My brother in law J advises against posting this vid on bike forums as the police/forest service/DNR are surfing the internet for and are sending out citations. My license plate is plainly visible when the video is paused.

What do you guys think? 8-[
(In three days of riding, we only saw one group of two quads and one jeep)

It was a great three days of riding.

You guys knew I was only 3 and a half feet tall, right?

Looks like a lotta fun...

As to posting the vid here, if you have any concerns we could put it in the Anything goes section, that way only members with access can view it and not any errant eyes which may stumble upon the site, its up to you

Thanks, Zammer, but I suspect it's fine here. If I get a citation from this, then I guess I'll know.

Great pics and video Tom!

We had a couple of guys... maybe three... ticketed because of some pictures posted on a local forum. They were driving on DNR land (Wenas Wildlife Area) and going through a mud hole... actually, just a set of muddy tracks... that were on the road, (but off to one side). I realize there are some problems with mudding in our area, but to me, the problem is guys tearing up meadows, not following some tracks in the road. I thought it was pretty petty. But the DNR ticketed them! Everyone on the local forum has gotten pretty careful about the pics they post...

If your on a dual sport bike with insurance and on a logging road how could you get a ticket??? Provided you are not in a area clearly marked restricted you should be fine. You wouldn't get a ticket in jeep on a logging road would you?

Up in B.C. you have to have proof of insurance to be on logging roads even on a dirt bike. So the dual sport guys are fine because the plate is proof of insurance.

You didn't watch the video, did you Kevin. :muhaha:

On the street, it's called reckless endangerment.

Wow, Matt, that seems like nothing but revenue chasing to me. Gorge Orwell was so right.

That looks like a good road for the "Smilievan". Maybe even a fly over in the balloon. Not that I'd have time but I'll be up your way sometime in October. I'd like to stop by long enough to say "Hi".

Its you pulling a monster wheely on a logging road. Would they not have to know what logging road you are on and see you doing that with a pack of babies in front of you to give you a ticket for endagering someone??? If you want to loop your bike out on a gravel road and fill your backside with gravel thats your business. If they don't pull you over or know exactly where you are or exactly who was on the bike they couldn't get the ticket to stick up here. You could have been anywhere in about 3 states or god only knows how many municipalities you could have been in.

I am not trying to be a smart ass or anything I am just curious as to how the law works down there. Up here as long as your insured and doing less than 50mph your good to go. You would have to run over a forest ranger to get a ticket or be drunk.
