Got the TPI engine running. Bit of a long story on this pic, but I'll get to that when I get off work. Still needs a lot of um refinement. Regardless though, took it to the quarter wash and a few other places. Definitely progress.

Re: First time in a year and a half
Well, got a lull at the office so time for the long version.
Started out simple enough, a shake down run. My buddy egged me on, so I decide to go out to the quarter wash and clean out a 700R4 core for my MK-II transmission to throw in this beast.
Get to the quarter wash, no problem. I'm plugging in my Wide band O2 as it stands now, so I was there probably about 20-25 minutes. As such it drained my battery pretty badly, so I barely get her started. Stalled out in the lot afterwards, called my buddy. Got it fired again, called him back told him never mind then go along.
I got to the currency exchange in the pic, and stalled out promptly in the road. Push it up in, then after that I get a jump from a passerby. I was having some major trouble cranking so I played with the dist a bit. As it turns out, I don't have the locked out timing on cranking working. Just as I'm calling my buddy again, the rain starts. Then the thunder, lightening and tornado sirens. Well, I get it back on the road by jumping it with another passerby and then getting almost home. While I'm waiting I check the alternator stud and the nut is about to fall off!
My buddy shows up (with dead jumper cables) so we wind up having to go by my house to get some more. I ended up twisting the dist to advance the timing after I get it fired up b/c it acts like it wants to stall and the thing just starts smoking the tire like crazy. So I guess I learned a few things that night.
A)Monitor your charging voltage
B)Dont' hook your Wide Band up to power that's on all the time it will eat your battery.
C)I need a lot of tuning on the timing but it feels awesome as-is. I can't wait to really get it locked down.
D)I need to check my timing light; it was showing it as 25 degrees advanced with locked timing but it was super retarted based on what the engine wanted when I actually went out with it. I may have cross talk though too or the balancer is off. I am going with cross talk though until I can find someone with an older engine to check my light on.
