Dude from Norway sent me these two B50 500cc BSA crankcase sets to be fixed. They were so incased in some kinda sludge that my bead blaster couldn't make any headway. I took them to Pakes Engine & Machine, Inc in Janesville, Wi. to be Sonic Soda Blasted. Still looked like hell when they came back BUT now the bead blaster could do its job. Still have to detail the case and finish machine it but looks like it's a gonna work.

Nice job, Stan. Try EZ-OFF oven cleaner on those hard to clean parts. I've used it for years. Does a good job.

I used to work with a guy that cleaned up and sold old RC airplane engines. He would stick them in old crockpots of simmering antifreeze....

Caustic soda bath in a can p much. I have heard Vinegar works great for a bunch of stuff that is steel based would hate to use it on the AL without testing though. You let it soak for a few weeks rust comes right off!

ED:quick question, do you do ally welding? By the looks of it I could use some services perhaps. Ever make it down south into IL at all?
