We didn't like the chrome, so we had them powdercoated gloss black. I hope you like them, but we'll still be friends if you don't.
Hey, I like that combo of painted rims and trim rings!
...gives me an idea. Maybe I will paint or vinyl wrap my set of chrome trim rings in yellow or orange to match my van's colors??? Might have to try one and see how it looks.

Damn that hurts MC. That's two nice looking vans to take a hit this week. ChevyMaher got hit too.
Quick repair, do wraps hide alot or does show imperfections?

I sent you a PM on the trim rings.

Well here's a photo of my van before I did the wrap and painted the rims black which shows the trim rings instill installed so you can see what style they are.
Also attached is another photoshopped mockup of what I am considering trying to do with them if I decide to keep them. Probably NOT gonna use them though, might add some other graphics to the rims, if anything.

Going to look at another 1999 Astro tomorrow with a blown engine! :muhaha:

ROFL, I love the "Binford" caps.

Let me know on the shipping cost, it may not be worth your while as they can be purchased new from the site mentioned by smilesafari a few posts up for $50 or so.

It's pretty sad when I was happy to get 13.92 with the last fill up! :D It's better by about 10%. Good thing the van is paid for or I would seriously consider getting rid of it for something with 40+ fuel economy.

The cold weather has dropped my '04 AWDs mileage off the acceptability chart, 13.2 & 12.9 last two tanks all in town driving.
EDIT; Just checked mileage from wknds trip to Milwaukee and mostly highway mileage was 16 even. If that would be typical IN town mileage I'd be happier.

Installed a stock fan shroud I got off E-bay. I also started looking at swapping in a NP 233 transfer case. Tried playing with the electronics and didn't get too far as the TCCM wiring doesn't all match what we have on here. May not matter as I found it can be shifted manually just by making and installing a shifter and linkage. I will probably go this way as it is much simpler.

It took a few days. Looking into the windows of semi-trucks...priceless.

I cringe every time I fill up the mileage is so bad. I have had my AWD 03 since 06.
Average economy is 12.5-12.9 mpg in the winter and 13.5-13.7 in the summer.
My van is 100% stock down to the airfilter LOL
215/70/16p tires, over-inflated to 40psi. Rarely do I have the back seats in ( trying to save weight and it aids in the occasional delivery). 99% of my driving is stop and go in the city. Average speed is 22 mph

But it's long since paid for, in good mechanical / body shape, and cheap to insure so I will keep it until the wheels fall off.

I started putting Dynamat in my doors. I'm only half done with one door and seriously......that part of the door now sounds like an armored car and the other half sounds like a tin can! This is gonna get interesting! And very expensive.

The power locks in my van died :( . The other night I went to use the key fob and the lights flashed but nothing else. I though...well maybe the battery in the fob isn't strong enough (since I hadn't replaced the battery I figured it couldn't hurt). Replaced the battery and still nothing. I can hear something clicking in the passengers footwell but the locks don't work. Also, my rear hatch is energized (unlocked) all the time :(
All my fuses are good, and I can't find my factory service manuals.
Anyone have any ideas?
