Mooneyes Japan retro Astro

Post by 356redux »

Many years ago I saw this bad boy at the SEMA show but never saw it again. I have searched for it over the years but to no avail. I saw this thing before the internet and unfortunately didn't have any pics of it. I stumbled on these pics and it is just as awesome as I remember. I wish I had another Astro just to do a cool retro ride like this one. I sure some of you old school vanners will love this one. Enjoy.

Cool! That's the best looking nose I've seen. Is that grille buyable somewhere?

The side pipes are awesome too. Maybe a solution for headers/dual exhaust on an AWD? Probably not too practical on my lifted van but then I don't really do any serious wheelin anyway. Thoughts?

Have a great weekend everyone. :bounce: :guitar:

How about a set of 2" tubular steel rock sliders with the exhaust routed through them? :muhaha:

I like almost everything about this van except the mirrors , never been a fan of those large chrome mirrors . I guess that visor is made for a fullsize van then modified to fit the Astro . Wonder how much work that would involve .... hmmmmm !

It really really looks cool. I like its pictures a lot.
But, the slider doubtfully opens more than an inch or two..
Sure looks Japanese !
It would make a nice plastic model kit.
