Here are pics of my new 2013 Tundra. I got the 5.7L, 6 speed and tow package which has 4.30 gears. This is to replace my 2003 Ram 2500 Hemi and I have to say there is a HUGE difference in the power, acceleration and overall ease of driving compared to the Ram. I am very excited to tow this weekend! I won't have the recommended 500 miles on it yet but oh well, that is why there is a warranty. I had the dealer add in tow mirrors, rear TRD sway bar and a cargo divider.
I also added in my Prodigy brake controller into a little cubby hole.

Between camping, working and that.... They offered me a great trade on the Ram, 0% for 5 years and $1,000 cash on top...so...it was mostly a no-brainer!

Took it out for a test tow yesterday after setting up the hitch and throwing 640# in the bed. I am very happy with the pulling power. Much more than my Ram had. It also handled the weight very well considering it only has P rated Michelin LTX A/S tires.

I don't know actual weight but it weighed 5100 as shipped from factory, add in 60 gallons propane, 2 batteries and all our gear plus about 500 - 700# of water...probably around 6500 total.

Towed with the truck and I have to say I am impressed! It out-tows a Hemi all day any day! I was able to accelerate up hills I could only hold speed at before. I also got 12% better fuel economy to boot. I love being able to select my gear and the 4.30 gears really made it shine off the line. Moving the camper was no issue at all!
Update on the Nitro...so far we are at just over 70k miles. Total spent on maintenance is $1983.49. That includes everything from state inspections to wipers. It also includes accessories added like hitch, husky liners, vent visors, extra wheels and winter tires etc. For actual repairs, I have done 2 calipers, one front, one rear, transfer case seal (warranty), and of course brakes including rotors and pads 1 time. Maintenance items have been oil changes every 5k or so, plugs and air filter at 30k intervals. Really it has been a very reliable vehicle and having the lifetime powertrain warranty, we plan to keep it a long time! There is a fault with it though. It isn't very comfortable on long trips. I find my hips get very sore after 4 or 5 hours. Lynne drives it mostly for work and trips of 4 hours or less. Fuel economy has averaged 18.50.
