Hi! New guy here just started shopping ;)
THE GOOD:
$2850 asking price
95,000 Original miles
Shifts super smooth
CC works
Windows work
No leaks
Feels strong
No electrical harness for towing (assume it is tow free)
THE BAD:
Rear AC doesn't work - I'm in AZ this is the most impt flaw - Whats the worst case scenario?
Windshield Wipers don't work
Interior plastic rough - driver side door panel nearly falling off... loose plastic everywhere
Body a little dinged up
Are the "Bad" deal breakers? Can they send me to the bank on this? My budget is around $5,500 to get started with an Astro with a 2" lift and new 235's in good working order...
Any comments?
Looked at a 2000 AWD today - red flags or not...?

Sounds like a good deal, hard to find Astros with low mileage. What doesn't work on the rear AC? If the blower doesn't go on then it could just be a fuse. The refrigerant is all one system front and back, so if AC cools in front, then the rear is most likely an electrical issue. Wipers probably not a big issue; you're in Arizona .
Strange that there is "loose plastic everywhere". Drivers door panel could be due to window motor replacement and they broke all the plastic tabs. If you work on it yourself probably a good deal. If you don't....??? Welcome to Astroland

if it has the things you want on it and it isn't too bad what the heck buy it. You mentioned an A/ C now that could be a fuse easy to check out and know if it is or not. Loose plastic see if it can be repaired and get it fixed, You said the engine was in good shape and no leaks go get it.
All the rest you will find when you drive it for a while. I bet in a few days you would have one sweet ride and all fixed up by you. If nothing else it much feel good to do the work yourself posting.php?mode=reply&f=2&t=9281#

1989 RS Astro, V-8 and maybe a shift it myself tranny, still deciding on this one. Dutch doors, Cad tail lights, shaving the rest now. 12 bolt rear end was in the van when I got it but changing how it sets to lower.

I'd vote a dead rear fan or a blown fuse for the rear ac.
For the windshield wipers, I;m guessing the multifunction stalk on the column.
Door panel- probably broken clips on the door panel causing it to flap around. buy a couple and put them in the corner holders on the back of the panel. should fix it.

Actually, the multi-function switch only has electronics in it for the cruise control. The switch for the wipers is in the steering column.
