I am considering converting my 1987 Astro from Computer to a carburetor. I Has anyone here ever done this and if so can you direct me to the link with the information on how to do it or even the discussions of pro's and con's.
Thank You!
Remove Computer and convert to Carbureator
Re: Remove Computer and convert to Carbureator
Should be a pretty simple procedure. I know that ChevyMaher was planning on doing that with his. Said that he has all of the parts lined up just waiting for the transmission before he does the work. But your transmission is already good to go for controls so that makes it even easier.
Off of the top of my head, you will need an adapter plate(or different intake) for the carb, distributor, and a fuel pressure regulator.
You can probably find all of the parts off of a mid 80s 4.3 as those ran a carb.
Edit: Forgot that there are a TON of the 4.3s that are carbed in boats, so that is another source of parts.
