Hate to say this, but that screw might do nothing for you. Green had a loose steering gear when I bought it. Playing with that screw only effected how easy/hard it was to turn the wheel. No matter what I did to it I was still able to turn one way and then turn the wheel 1/8th rotation back the other way before it was past the slop and actually effected the wheels. I ended up replacing the steering gear.
To check this pull up the boot from the top of the steering gear so you can watch it and the pitman arm at the same time, have an assistant rock the steering wheel back-n-forth gradually increasing how much they turn the wheel. Check the u-joint for looseness, then look at the pitman arm. You should be able to see the pitman arm move with a little as 1/32nd rotation of the steering wheel.

i'm aware that it might do no good that's why i was just going to change the gearbox since i'd have to be up in there anyways but i'm so used to driving with it i barely notice it anymore only when towing....

They were dropped off at the powder coaters this morning. Should have them back in about 2 weeks.

oh thats so great!!!!!! they go perfect with the image in my head of the paint job and bumpers i wanna add to my van
wish i could do that lifted i'm going to start looking for a cheap weld generator trailer after vacation
dammit it still so long before i get them
better start planning next steps all i have to do is get the bumpers, do the body work and find a good body/paint shop to finish the exterior off......
wow i just saw money evaporate......
