I may have to concede here...
I had a good conversation with Tom at Turbo City and he was one of the first people to convert a truck (in 1988) to a dual tbi and has done several since. With my lighter cam choice, his estimate is around 450HP with like torque. He said that the Dual's still don't develop the air needed to get to the 600 mark. He said the injectors will develop the HP's on paper but it will just flat line at a certain point. Oh, it's probably for the best that way I won't kill myself or puke truck parts all of the drag strip.
I've got some bills invested in parts this and I don't want to watch them go up in flames!
Both diff's will be rebuilt but they are still stock style performance truck parts. The transmission will have the performance end parts. Like I said before, this post was for fun and when the day comes I will take her on the stripe to see what it will do.

Re: Tran vs. Corvette?
I think he was more accurate that the manis he had are costing him some power, the tune doesn't seem 100% to me and besides that he's got way too much tire under it and too much lift which is making it way lazy out of the hole.LiftedAWDAstro wrote:I haven't posted in here yet nor have I voted because I don't care about street racing. Now if you are doing it at the drag strip...that's a different story.
I will say the vette will probably win. The reason I say this is the van is so aerodynamically inefficient that as you increase speed, the wind resistance goes up double. Remember Peter ran ZZ at the strip and just broke into the 12's. He has 572 ft# of torque and 500+ hp...what is your 383 going to produce? 600 hp is NOT going to get a 4000# van moving at the track where 600 ft# of torque will.
Here is how I see it play out...light goes green and tran leaves hard and then POW there goes the rear end or the tranny!
