installing a roof vent (with pics)

thanks guys. this vent retails for arround $40.

camped out this weekend, brief heavy rain and it passed that test. I drove with it open but didnt have my roll downs all the way open. Im sure it will have the same effect as one of the rear pop-outs open. there was little to no wind noise from it so thats nice.

and I couldnt bring myself to throwing away the left-over metal so I used it for another camp/rv project..

yes, two of them 80 watts total. its a neat set-up, a bit more involved than anything else Ive done to the van so far but well worth the time/costs

Im not sure I really need the sink but it was free and it fit in my stand so well.. and I just happened to notice the roof cut-out fit over it nicely and I had a few minutes to spare.

Im looking at water pump options for it now, I allready had a sink sprayer nozzel rigged up to an e. fuel pump, worked great but then it sat long enough to rust up (didnt like water) I'll look at w/washer pumps next, the RV type pumps are too pricey but they make good pressure.


I'll make another post for the solar power set-up soon as I can. not your average system, Ive got two batteries, a split charge controller and an isolator with integrated module to switch altenator charging to the aux battery automatically after the starting battery is charged. still working on the details with it.

Nice work! Especially on making it perty from the interior view. Mine isn't as sharp. Ended up miscalculating the location of the interior paneling rear heat, A/C vent (mine's a 1998) and had to cut into that when re-installing the roof paneling. I just posted with pics in another's thread. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4677
