I'll save you the pain! Mt Katahdin, Maine. I'm in Presque Isle/Caribou, ME, (my old stomping grounds) tonight, on my way to PEI tomorrow for the International Snowmobile Congress.

I flew from Yakima to Seattle to New York City to Bangor, starting at 7pm on my birthday and arriving around 10:30am on the 8th. I'm not a big fan of flying anyway, and going with little sleep sucks!

(But I do love being back in New England and can't wait to hit the Canadian Maritimes tomorrow [today]!)

Here's your answer Zam...

For those that don't know, the curved, 8 mile long Confederation Bridge is the longest in the world that crosses ice-covered waters (winter), and connects New Brunswick and Prince Edward Isle.

Here is my rental steed.

I've got to say, I like this HHR! (Well, except for the headrest that leans too far forward.) Compare this to our Ford Focus wagon and this Chevy really shines! Impressive performance from the 4 cylinder and auto trans and it is showing a 27 mpg overall average. The instantaneous readout stays above 30 mpg much of the time while running at 65 mph. Here is the instrument cluster (set to metric since I'm in Canada). Neat looking analog gauges and the digital readout gives some useful info you can toggle through including tire pressure, mpg, coolant temp, outside temp and two trip mileages.

Thanks!

A very cute border agent welcomed me this morning too!

Oh, I forgot to mention... The bridge is a toll bridge. Free to enter PEI. $42.50 (Canadian) to leave!

happy belated #-o

as usual, great pics. that bridge is insane... at least they have the toll set up properly. LOL

I strongly disliked the HHR when it came out. we have had 3 for the shop as delivery vehicles and although they eat front sway bar links for breakfast, they handle like a little (light in the rear) go-kart. only other silly thing is when the US models are flipped for kmh .. the max reading on the speedo is 120kmh. which is 20kmh over the posted limit around Toronto, sadly it's just touching merging speed to be on the 401 with the flow of traffic. anything above 120 and you're guessing. (all 3 of ours were purchased from the US). btw.. your rental probably has the 2.4L ?? .. the 2.2L is very decent on fuel.
