Thru '95 the Explorer was built on the Ranger platform. Starting in '96 it went through a serious remodel. My wife has a '95. 189k. First major repair. Had the trans rebuilt. It's been a great vehicle. \:D/

right, I was referring to Jtalleys explorer. I believe the ones that were styled like his were built on f150 frames. the earlier ones were obviously ranger based.
I've known quite a few people who've had explorers and as far as I know, they were great trucks (except they have a tendency to rust really bad around here- just like every other truck)
