I've got a job! It's at Taco Bell, but it's a job. I've also got an interview at a Holiday station (http://www.holidaystationstores.com) tomorrow at 11:30 and I've got another one scheduled at the local mall to be another Paul Blart.

Now comes the somewhat sad part. Because money has been extremely tight I went to St Vincent de Paul for rent assistance. Because I went to Salvation Army, I was turned down. But wait! There's more.....

I just got a phone call from the State Unemployment Insurance Division. As some may know, I've been fighting tooth and nail to receive any monetary benefits; of course, my old company has been doing just the same to KEEP me from getting one red cent. They even went so far as to say that I was INTENTIONALLY rude to three callers. You cannot possibly prove intent and I raised the spectre of "have any of these calls been listened to". I even went so far as to demand proof, both in transcripts and an actual recording. I knew that they couldn't. I sent my request for readjudication in to the state on 11 April; the old company had until 23 April to respond; as of the 28th, they hadn't. So, bearing this all in mind, the phone call this afternoon removed a very LARGE pachyderm from my shoulders. The readjudication was in MY favour; I should see 10 weeks worth of unemployment payments ($227/wk) within the next few days!

To those of you who kept the good thoughts (every last one of you), a heartfelt THANK YOU!

I do intend to work and collect unemployment AND look for a better job. I'm not going to kick back. When you don't have to worry about housing, it removes a lot of stress.
