Squidley, You still haven`t explained anything yet, just ranted off.

You have to realize the whole of California is not just what you see on tv (I bet you still believe that BayWatch is real) and I can`t believe that a tough military guy as you are, is so scared of the occasional earthquake. Plus the smog ain`t nothing to be worried about, I`ve been here for 21 years and have long-time friends and have met hundreds of people that have never had a problem with the air quality.

This is more TV sensationalism on your behalf, and because you are snowed in, and tv is one of your few outlets of what`s going on in other states, further out than Mon-Tucky.

My parents love to come out there once or twice a year and stay for a month or so because it helps with their arthritis (the dry heat) and makes them feel 100% more mobile. We take long walks along the boardwalk at the beach, which improves blood flow especially "down south", absorbing all the beautiful scenery (especially the chicks for me and my dad).

I`m sure that you have shot monster sized cannons with shells landing that can make the ground shake, more than the occasional quakes that we have here. Was you scared of those also, did they make you more nervous than you were at CandleStick park in SF after you felt an earthquake? (you told us that story)

And if you ever get your tough military balls back to come and visit Scary Sunny So California, there are free taxi services that will chauffeur you around.... Don`t worry our slightly higher taxes will pay for your rides.

Do not believe everything you see on TV. I have not been to California, but I've been to Florida 1½ month. When I got home and looked at "Cops" from Miami on TV. Much drugs and violence there..... but I missed it all when I was in Miami. The only time I saw a policeman with the lights on, was when I got a speeding fine on road 91 to Orlando.

Same with Thailand, if you watch TV it's just sextourism and such. And of course, if you want to buy sex, you can do that, just like any other large city in the world. But if you don´t go to these areas, you will never notice anything.

If you make TV about how nice it is in California, or that Thailand is a true paradise.
How many viewers you get? Much less than if there is disaster, violence and sex involved.

We finally got some snow. Put our plows to use finally. Limped through it due to alot of guys flaking thanks to not haivng worked in a while and then equip break downs left right and centre since everything has been sitting and not really abused yet this year to find all the little issues. But still got it done and still had the best looking sites anyways.


I was dispatching for this storm and this is what fell in about 4 hrs. Everything was bare including the flower bed before it started.






My new truck! covered after I parked it to dispatch about midway through the storm.

We got a few more flurries night before last. Second time this winter. Very unusual for my location. Must be global worming.

I can´t believe this......+1ºc and it started to snow again......

This has been a long friggen week! finally get one storm cleaned up and within hours there is another 4 - 5" on the ground. This has been occuring for the last few days. Between all the break downs and just random going wrongs I'm beginning to think I'm cursed. Missing salt deliveries, Tractors breaking left right and centre, Trucks just giving up the ghost for no apparent reason, Employees quitting with 0 notice. I am so glad it's over. I was upto 43 hrs no sleep and when I finally did grab a nap my alarms didn't wake me up to get crews moving. My crews calling me going dude where is everyone else did. I am so happy it's all said and done with I hope at least....

i dont take pictures or own a camera sorry guys not as technologically advanced as you, plus i would use it once and never use it again if i did own one. but anyways i live 15minutes from mt. hood so i see snow all year but in my own free will. today for instance its like 60 degrees out but if i drive 15minutes up the hill there is about 100inches of base snow. so there i have the best of both worlds hahahaha!
