Turned 170K miles at the top of the Bear Tooth Highway! Running strong, 1900 backcountry miles since leaving Portland. Will post a picture journal when I get back to portland in a few weeks. Hope all are well!

oh after seeing those you must have a ton of nice pictures
got van towed to my mechanic 3 and a half hours later got the van back new exhaust and O2's in and running great. went to tire shop and got tires rebalanced hit highway for test run now my high speed shimmy is gone still have a slight vibe from something though can't feel hit but can see my rear view vibrating ever so slightly. ABS light came on drove back to mechanic he scanned it (for free) and told me to go home and clean rust off sensors and inspect wires. vacuumed inside of van and reloaded everything (seats and normally gear) and puts some wire loom on my spark plug wires.

Installed rear shoes and new hardware, installed wheel cylinders / all lines from ABS unit back, installed rear shocks , installed new front sway bar / end links, repaired fog lights, Oil change , Diff fluid change, Air filter change, Greased everything , Lubed hinges ,latches and everything else that could be.
For the first time in friggen history every repair I made today went off without a hitch and no issues. Even the shock bolts came undone without a fight. So in other words I can probably be looking forward to installing a transmission or engine sometime soon lol.
Now to have a beer and mow the lawn.
Next Sunday will be front shocks, Idler arms, Tie rods and ends, adjusting the steering box and changing the U joints.

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
i cussed it this morning (the 87) when it would not start. Tried to start and the engine would just go "rer, click" and then nothing the next time I turned the key.
Drove the 92 instead.
Got home and checked the 87 to find the + terminal on the battery very corroded and in general bad shape. A quick trip to the parts house for a new terminal and a long fight to get the old one off and the new one installed and now its back to normal.

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
Changed my cherry juice filter and output shaft seal. Installed a trans pan drain plug. Suprisingly simple and quick job. Did it in the driveway. Didn't jack anything up. Only specialized tool I used was an angled pick thingie (trans filter o-ring remover).
Total cost, $50 including the o-ring remover tool. Cost of the replacement ATF not figured in as I have a big jug of Amsoil still hanging around from the previous owner of my man cave.
Yesterday, installed a 2/0 gauge primary battery cable and 100 amp circuit breaker.

How come you didn't star on Star Trek?
Because Clint Howard beat me for the part of Balok.

Hey Lumpy, that's a nice clean install on the battery wiring. Good job. Out of curiosity, what's the need for 2/0 gauge wire & circuit breaker?

The 2/0 cable is simply so that I'll have a big pipe full of 'lectricity..
The circuit breaker separates the stock electrical loads from the add-ons.
The stock stuff, lights, ignition, horn etc, all come off the circuit BEFORE the circuit breaker. They are fused and protected in the normal, OEM manner with fuses, fusible links etc. The add-ons all take their power AFTER the circuit breaker. Ham radios, My-Ride controller, off road lights, hot tub, 12v banana straightener etc.
All of the add-ons are protected by ATC fuses of appropriate amperage.
Here's a coupl'a more pics:

If anyone is considering 9000s in the front, contact me if you like. There's a couple of tricks I had to learn that will make the tight squeeze happen withOUT damaging the shock control lines.
