Coming along on my swap but I am wanting to eliminate the factory computer from the 88 that sits under the drivers side seat.
Can I just remove it and all associated wiring from the engine bay. The newer ls motor has its own harness and computer.

I went ahead and cut almost all of it out, I saved a few wires like the starter solenoid, hot in run and start, and the washer pump wires.

Sounds interesting, love to see pics.
Do you have diagrams for the new harness? What year is the motor?

I am using the factory pcm from the ls, the wiring harness is aftermarket from eBay.
I got the engine and trans installed today but I need to finish up by bolting the torque converter to the flex plate and modifying my crossmember to accept the trans mount.

Is there a reason that the steps / procedures / "flaming hoops to jump thru" for using The Gallery are not posted somewhere ?

Especially considering we have over ( 1500 ) 640 x 480 pics of The Van rebuild, etc, by the 2 of us, Me n' "The Spousal Unit".
Was looking to replace the goofy fotofark version in our sig. ( what happened to all the pics... covered with logo stuff ? ).

No particular reason. Before now the gallery simply hasn't received a lot of interest. I recently revived it from a dilapidated state, and I'm really happy to see it get some attention. If this keeps up then I'll definitely have to streamline things.

Alright I'll take this to mean you are requesting a gallery account. Look for an update in your private messages shortly.

I guess you are referring to the "Photobucket" watermark on your signature image. Well it seems you have uploaded it to Photobucket's website, and that's what they do.
Why don't you make a new post in the Welcome section, attach the photo to your post, and then you can use it in your forum signature watermark free.
