Adding OEM Limited Slip

Hi guys,
I just bought a 2024 3500 Extended LT with the 6.6 liter.
It was in stock, I didn't order it and sadly, it does not have the factory limited slip option.
Has anyone on here added this to their Express?
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. Just find a matching size axle with the limited slip option (RPO code G80). Beware of voiding your powertrain warranty though.

That's a good idea, I wonder if there are any software changes regarding traction/stability control with and without the limited slip...

I'm going to contact the dealer and see if their service department would install it and not affect the warranty.
The part itself is "cheap", I've found it for $280 online-

Since the G80 unit is purely mechanical, I believe control module programming will be identical. Wheel speed sensors will compensate for any limited slip activity.
You can try asking , but I think the dealer will refuse. They only use new OEM parts based on your VIN.
The part is "cheap", but installation will be several times that cost.

Do you have any good offroad truck/4x4 shops around? This would not be a difficult installation for an experienced drivetrain mechanic. I had a mechanic install a Torsen unit in my Astro in under 2 hours.
