Custom Interior Big Blue

Post by meetthespeakers »

:::UPDATE:::LOTS OF PICTURES

So this is where I am at currently with Big Blue.
I am on this semi-sport luxury kick for whatever reason, and I've decided to upgrade everything to black leather. So for the front seats I ended up going with 03 eclipse seats (driver power slide, manual recline and lumbar), eddie baeur expedition console, and durango seats for the rear. So far I have completed the durango bench seat welding it to the stock frame. As of last night, I completed welding in the eclipse seats to the astro base that bolts in. So I am done for now till I mold in the console to the dash and dye that black as well.

So onto the pics, if anyone has any questions, comments, shot away.

I'm hoping to tackle getting atleast the seats in this weekend. I might start toying around with the console tonight and cutting it down. I am gonna be fitting my sub below it, down firing 8". Sounds so good in the console I have currently. I might add a few other details to the actual console, I'm thinking some plexi might be involved.

Other than that, it would be nice for some warmer weather to work outside. Stupid for me to start it now.

Nice. Leather or genuine vinyl?

All leather! I have to say, I am really happy the way it turned out, it was fairly simple, just took the old seat bases, cut the rails off and retained the new seats rails, and welded two square steel tubes across. All I have left is to run power to the drivers seat. Much nicer bolster in these seats, plus the lumbar support is a plus.

The console I am gonna leave for now till I suck it up and start molding it into the dash, I am thinking of cutting the stock cupholders out, and molding the console into that, and dying those pieces black as well. I have to have room for either the 8" or 10" sub, haven't decided which one I want to do yet, or maybe both. I am amazed at how well the dye turned out on the console though. \:D/

Well, it looks good fer sure. And you can still buckle up as easily? Reach the seat controls?

Where do you park, and do you believe in the right to keep & bear arms? :muhaha:

Peter,

I reused all the buckles from the astro, the back ones i had to bolt into the durango ones. The front seats the controls are on the outside, such as recline and position, otherwise it would be a tight fit if you had a console in the middle.

I park in the carport, and I believe in bear arms.
