Can you say manufacturered Shortage

I was reading this article which concludes with these words,
The notion that this planet is running out of oil is one of the great misnomers of our age. There is more oil available today than there was a hundred, fifty or ten years ago. And there is every indication that this trend will continue into the future. Instead of lamenting that we are running out of it, it would be far more accurate to say that we are constantly bumping into new oil. This is why two years ago the Economist headlined an article on the topic The Bottomless Beer Mug.
The general public, however, is largely ignorant of these facts. The divergence between the conventional wisdom and reality could hardly be any wider. Profoundly misinformed and alarmed, people place false hopes in misguided alternatives. Rather than implementing harmful, inefficient and expensive substitutes, we should insist that our government lift the obstacles which prevent us from availing ourselves of this superabundant resource.
It made me realize once again how the enviro-nazis want to keep people ignorant of the facts, not to mention the oil companies that manufacture shortages by not only not building new refineries but closing refineries so they can keep the prices up with a manufactured shortage.

I happen to agree with you Mr Rileys. I also believe Global Warming is a cottage industry.
My husband read somewhere today that the Polar Ice actually increased last winter.
So much BS is perpetrated on the general public. And people just swallow it up hook line & sinker.

Yea, this winter we had more snow and broke more records for winter than before. Sounds like some BS to me

Dude they found a ridiculous amount of oil near Brazil not to long ago. OPEC has been saying for almost a year now that we are no where near a shortage what so ever. The speculators and prospectors have been keeping it expensive. I've been saying that for years. The refinery issue is dead on. Especially since due to the enviro-nazis they can't build any more.

Right on. I also heard that they found a HUGE HUGE HUGE abundance up in Canada. What they say though too is that it takes "oil/gas" to remove oil from the ground and the ratio between the two is getting smaller. (hope i said that right) "Taking more oil to extract oil" basically. Same brainwashing is going on with Nuclear plants. The government/environmentalists put a hold on building new plants in the 70s. Everybody thinks you'll get cancer and die playing next to them. In reality, Nuclear power can be really safe if run right, and is really clean power!
