seeing all the great metal fab threads these days i figured i'd ask a few questions for us metal work newb's.

which welders are you guys using at home? pro's/con's?
which set up would be adequate to use at home?
any particular things to look for before purchasing a set up?
which would be versatile enough to do both say sheet metal work and/or say also something heavier guage like a frame where structural integrity counts?

if anyone has any suggestions or questions please add to the thread.

Duty cycle follows along with pricing(how long you can continously weld) and the thickness of what you can weld.

The cheaper welders might have a duty cycle of only 20%,but are great for sheet work and can weld up to 1/4".
