Pretty Interesting. I did an experiment myself with my 2008 Express work van. Typically I would get about 15.5 MPG average with gasoline. I ran a couple tanks through of E85 and only got about 12 MPG. Even with E85 being 50 cents cheaper a gallon, after calculating all the numbers, it was 14% more efficient (moneywise) to use regular gas. I never noticed any change/drop in power though.

I also heard it takes more than a gallon of gas to pproduce one gallon of E85.

Seems the only other fuel than gas that works is natrual gas.Seems also this was a rush to market without enough data to support the huge funds spent.I think the oil man's name is T.bone Pickett might to be on something with his natural gas approach.Surely the distribution network is already in place.I would find it hard to believe a gas station who doesn't have a natural gas line on site that would only require them to run a line to one pump for that.Surely they have electric too-but the developement of electric cars still have a limited range and costs right now anyways that way out of reach for most people. On the other hand, natural gas has been in limited use for yrs.I don't know how it compairs to gasoline in mpg and maybe someone could chime in about that part of it.
