Engilsh Ford?

Post by ihatemybike »

My father says his first car was an English Ford, but he doesn't recall the make or year. Based on our talks, I think I've figured out that the car had vacuum powered wipers. Not sure how old he was when he bought it, but he had it when he started college at 18 so that would have been 1966. Anyone know what models Ford imported from the UK in the late 1950s / early 1960s?

Not sure what car your refering to but my 63 falcon had the vaccum wipers .
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

Here's a little info for ya. The 30's and 40's model Anglia was favorite in Gas class back in the 60's. My buddy had a Hemi powered Anglia back in 67.

Good post. The versions that went to 1953 where the ones used the most for gassers. The 90" wheelbase make them a very interesting car to drive at the top end. :yikes:

A Ford Anglia was featured in one of the Harry Potter movies. Very interesting to watch it fly by the London Tower!
