Post by reaper »

This morning 3 of us decided to blow off some steam & run our
r/c 18R cars.
Here's a cool vid I took of us running.
I lost steering on my final lap & clipped the curb. - see video #-o

Nice cars. Nitro? or elec? gimme some specs :D

T-Low I wouldnèt be surprised at all if they are doing over 35 actual miles an hour. I have a nitro buggy that does 35 Mph ( real not scale) and it is probably alot heavier than those.

The cars are 1/18th scale & come ready to run out of the box.
They do about 25mph only,They look like they are faster thru video.
Last year we tried brushless power in them & due to there wheelbase
& being AWD they were impossible to control on the street,So we went back to
stock. Each car is the same speed within 1 mph of eachother which makes for
great racing, all of us in a 5 lap race will trade 1st place a handful of times.
The more cars in a race the crazier it gets.
Here's another vid of us racing,More like a demo derby.

Here's a couple of pics of the car & yes I do race for beer :partyman:

man we didn't have those back in the day....sound gray haired don't I?
we had HO slot cars. 25 mph full scale probably calcs out in scale to something like 500 mph at 1/25th
we had a 12 foot straight a way on our slot car track. the G cars we ran we timed at 400 mpg to scale.
If you didn't let off the trigger at the end, your car was a garage sale on the garage wall.
too cool. might havta get me one of those... :supz:
'89 Astro, 4.3L, TBI. Minor intake and exhaust mods. Rebuilt 700R4 trans (by me). Corvette servo, 0.5" boost valve, police grade 1-2 accumulator spring (shifts fast and solid). B&M stacked plate trans cooler. Bilstein shocks. Belltech sway bars front and back. New head unit, speakers and subwoofer. Needs paint and a new headliner.

name's Steve
I can't remember all I've forgotten about that....
