Fundraising for people in need
Hi my ASV family!!!
I post this thread without shame and ask that you read to the end before you place judgment:
(Forum mods - should this type of thread not exist please kindly delete!)
Some of you know I volunteer a lot of my time with Children and Youths. This year I am taking on the 30 Hour Famine (World Vision) challenge as means to help raise funds for 3rd World Countries. Although the famine time is for only 30 hours I am extending my no-eat period to 40 hours as challenged by some Youths. Well most of you know I consume a lot of food so is a challenge!!!
All donation proceeds go to World Vision. Your donation will be used wisely for people in need around the world. I have friends who work with World Vision and I am pleased to see them GO and work in the countries to help teach life changing skills to these people as well as providing medical, food and clean water for consumption.
I personally donate to Salvation Army & Red Cross when crises occur (ie China, Indonesia and Africa disasters) and to World Vision & Samaritans Purse for Child Sponsorship or special events.
We are privileged living in North America. Regardless of economic hardships we have it a lot better than the many living in 3rd World Countries.
Should you find heart in donating for this good cause of 30 Hour Famine (my famine date is April 24th to 26th ?? 40 hours!) please visit the link below for online donation and tax receipt: http://www2.worldvision.ca/famine/20390592
My goal ultimately is to make you aware of the possibilities to help less fortunate people around the world. If you are unable to donate please find heart to do so in other ways - look for charities to help local people in your area.
