The parent company of east coast Strauss Discount Auto and west coast Super Autobacs has filed for chapter 11. Watch these stores for possible final clearance sales.

hmm.. i've never heard of them either.

our store sales were up 10% in january and 20% in feb 2009 vs. 2008 (usually dec - end of feb is a bad period for auto parts)

in our area were finding more are fixing what they have as opposed to buying new.

only reason i know of super autobacs is becuase i saw it in japan didn't get a chance to go in tho.... :cry:

I never heard of them before the email announcement I received at work, my office has to watch that stuff. Thought I'd put to out here to hopefully help my van brethren.

Yeah, there is an Autobacs in Stanton, CA about 25 miles from my house. I've never been in there before, looks like a huge place though. I wasn't even sure what it was.

We have O`Rielly (sp?) joining up with our Kragen Autoparts overhere in LA.
