Yakima Vintiques Car Show - No Dial-Up Allowed! :)

It's hotter than hell here in Yakima, WA, today. (103 degrees at 6pm this evening.) This morning we went and checked out the Vintiques Annual Car Show held at the local fairgrounds. It is a 3-day event, ending today. This show is open to pre-1972 vehicles and the local news was reporting there would be more than 600 on-site. We arrived around 9:30am and left about noon and I was sweating pretty good by then. Please enjoy these pics; I nearly died to obtain!
(Sorry for some fuzzy ones. You have to take the good with the bad....)
My favorite of the show was this hot rod school bus. Ryan thought she was going to be late for school! "Dare to be different!"
Lots of cool trucks.
If there was a vehicle that could make me forget the Astro/Safari, this Dodge is it!!!
I think every year El Camino was represented at the event.
This is probably my favorite body style of any car/truck out there! (I'd have preferred a different color and chrome bumpers on this one though...)
This old Ford deserved a better pic than this.... Wide meats on the back end!
This truck had a 5th wheel in the back... I'm not sure what he tows with it (and I didn't see a 5th wheel camping trailer on the grounds anywhere either).
4x4s!
Big trucks!
I couldn't figure out what supplied the power, but it is a front-wheel-drive something.
Cars, cars and more cars....
This Impalla body style is my second favorite.... wonder why?! This was one sweet ride!
This Jag E-type has one of the sweetest body styles ever!
A couple of High Boys...
A couple of Buick Rivieras.
Old go-fast goodies on this flathead.
Ryan is stealing a sip from someones drink!
There weren't many Vettes at this event.
My mom(!) and dad used to street race a '57 Ford!
This was very clean. I briefly owned a 66 Malibu but it never looked like this!
Just goes to show it doesn't have to be a Nomad to be a cool wagon!
When I first saw this, I thought it was a Bugeye Sprite. Turned out to be a Crosley (Hot Shot or Super Sport). I thought the three air stacks sticking out the hood made it picture-worthy!
Drag cars.
And just some 'different' things.
I don't think this was a runner. No front brakes and I don't think the stock rear diff would hold up...
After checking out the cars we went inside the 'Sundome' to get out of the heat and check out some of the vendors. Ryan was given a snap-together model, so I coached her through it.
There was also a model building contest. Some nice models, but the pictures aren't great looking through the glass cabinent.
Even though there was a 'poker run' occurring while we were at the show, I can't imagine they had anywhere near 600 vehicles in attendance. While the weather is near picture-perfect, 100+ degree temps probably kept lots of car owners away. All in all though, it was an impressive showing of cars.
