Well,,looks as if I'm out of the transportation business,,thank God,,after 30 years, it's about time.
Going in a totally different direction, still a mode of transportation but not so complicated to deal with.
Over the last couple of months I've been looking at kayaks and after checking out many sites on the net I ran across a company in Ga. that is putting out one fine kayak. A two seater, a single and a camo fishing rig that is out of site. Went to visit the plant yesterday and was very impressed with the order of things, the material used and the folks I spoke with. I was very curious about the thickness of the material and was surprised. They had a red unit out they were trashing and using it to check material flow in the mold. Here's a shot of a couple of holes they had drilled out which show the thickness.

These next pics are of the new camo fishing kayak. This happens to be a double(two person) outfitted with depth finder,, running lights, two rod holders and also net storage, two dry storage compartments and paddle storage area. Pics aren't the best,,was in a hurry to get back to the 96.

Last pics is a double with granite flakes added to the process. The flakes hide scratches you would get while crossing rocky areas and just the general scratches you get while unloading, launching and reloading.

I came back with 3 of the doubles and 2 singles last night and have 2 left so doing good so far and haven't even advertised yet.
Wish me luck,,back to water sports,,something I've always enjoyed.

I too am in the market for a fishing, sit on top kayak. So far the only one that I have found that I really like is the Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120 Angler kayak. Unfortunately... I don't particularly care for the price... At around $1,000 , it's a little hard for me to swallow right now. What I really like about it the adjustable foot "pegs" and the flat bottom allowing you to stand up and cast if you needed to. Here's a picture of it:

Not sure but that Wilderness looks like a Bob McDonough design. I'll see if I've got a good shot at the same inside angle and you'll see how much they look alike.

Here ya go:
Off course,,this one doesn't have adjustable foot rests but each of those indentions on each side are the different location to place feet. There are also 3 other locations to add dry storage for about 25 bucks each. The camo or any other color rigged for fishing will sell for around 800 bucks. The basic single you see here I'm selling for 350 and the double for 425.
These also, as you may have noticed, have a keel line which takes some of the roll out and more stable when moving around.

Thanks for the offer. I'm not much of a water person. I'm more of a up in the air person. You're going to have some great times. Enjoy. Be safe. \:D/

If I had as much hair as :muhaha: you Skip,,I'd hate to mess it up in the water myself.
I really want to head down your way next summer and do that water Darren and DL did. That was the clearest water I've ever seen.

Wow,,Darren you beat me to it bud. That was some water you guys did,,got to get down there for sure.
Will do Keith,,lots of pics. We're headed out next weekend for an overnight river trip but will probably do a short haul before then.
Keith I'm trying to run down the best rod holders and depth finders for close quarters tonight. Don't think I'm going to wait on the mfg. to complete their fishing unit, their still tweeking theirs. I'll just put my own together and get it out there on the market. They said they didn't care what I did with it after it was paid for and you know how long it takes a company in the US to make a decision. It could be a year before they are happy with their fishing unit and everyone has signed off for production.
