Turned that JEEP into a "trailer queen" at least for the ride home... TOO FUNNY. Jim

The whole video made the rounds on the Jeep sites a couple months back. Ridiculous yanking not in line with the stuck vehicle done by a diesel dually. Pretty much everyone thinks the owner of the Jeep got what was coming to him. Should have been smarter with the extraction.

My general rule of thumb is that a forward pull generally exceeds the capacity of the vehicle. I would prefer to be yanked backwards thru my own tracks instead of forward thru the stuff my truck couldn't go thru in the first place.

I guess it never occurred to the bonehead in the dually to take up the slack in the two strap slowly...
Nah, I'll just yank it out like a wine bottle cork, oops.

That was the dumbest thing I have seen in a long time. Get the wheels spinning on the jeep in the direction you want to go and then put a winch to the front of it. If you jerk a line like that something is going to snap no matter what you were pulling. I agree with Tom thou if you can get pulled back out that is usually alot easier on the equipment. you just don't want to be the last guy in the line to try the hole because then it is all chewed out by your buddies and there is no one behind you to pull you back.

Married life DOES come with wisdom EH!?
heheh - was that a bad joke?
I agree.
Also I have not welded in my front hooks yet so I only have the hitch in the rear to get me out of trouble >.<

LOL I like that! Thanks for the post!
But the question will be if there is a tractor around when you need one
