I have been looking for a new project for sometime now and this is something that really interests me.
It's complete, less the motor and tranny, but I won't be needing those things anyway. It will be getting a blown BBC.
This guy has had a huge response to this ad but he has decided to deal with it on a first come first served bases.

It really looks interesting. No engine and trans gives you a world of possibilities though. I'm not sure what you mean by a blown BBC. What is that?

I saw a pretty cool older Chevrolet pickup truck conversion roll across the block Sunday (Barrett-Jackson). Something like a 50s circa with a Mercedes drive-train. My thoughts: build it so its economical to drive and enjoy. A radical motor change would be nice to look at and drive from gas station to gas station. But why not be different and build an economical daily driver? Just a thought. Whatever way you go, I wish you the best of luck with your project. Jim

here has a BBC in his stro drives pretty nice and he drives it to NECO not sure on mileage but i would use it as a DD

I have already done that to a '77 Chevy stepside. It had a 468 bbc, carbed engine with 9.75 cr. It was a blast to drive and I drove it almost every day.
The problem with that concept is you are not so much driving from gas station to gas station as much as you wished you owned a gas station. Even with the mild build of 505hp/565ft.lb. of torque, I would only get 2km per litre on a good day.......with a tail wind.......down hill.
If I started to have fun with it I could easily cut that good mileage in half. Miles per us gallon would roughly convert to about 3.2 miles per gallon. A high compression, caburated bbc is not something you drive every day.
A blown bbc is something you drive on only the very nicest of days, and I plan on doing some drag racing which I haven't done in years.
This is not a project I plan on throwing together as I fully expect this to take a minimum of 5 years to complete. This will be my last hotrod project and I plan on doing it right.
