screw ms windows

Post by kings-x59 »

I now have a linux laptop :supz:
actually it was my wife's. She got the internet security 2009 virus on it, which I managed to get rid of, then she got the internet security 2010 virus on it. I got rid of part of that then it locked me out of the log in. So I sent her down to best buy to get a new laptop so I didn't have to listen to any more bitch'n. Meanwhile, I downloaded I don't know how many flavors of linux till I found one that worked with this p.o.s. Now running Ubuntu 8.04. The whole operating system and browser loads to RAM, and it is FAST.
This has been a lot like working on my 'stro, hacks and work arounds :muhaha:

Linux is excellent. I have been using it since well long before 99% of people had heard of it. Execellent security / customization. The main issue is the learning curve. It's awesome to see someone else jump in!

Greatest part of Linux is the user community - you got a question/problem - just ask - I have had great luck resolving issues by just asking - only 1 problem - I got an old Logitec web cam that Linux hates.... oh well guess I should get a newer unit, but I'll just use windows when I need the webcam - I am actually impressed with windows 7 - tested the Windows 7 RC and actually have to admit - best windows ever! Seriously... I'll still keep the dual boot in the garage so I can visit the Torrents sites and not have to worry... as much

Ubuntu is o.k.

When I was using Linux, I had PcLinuxOS 2009. Loved it and soon to set up a dual boot system with it and windows 7.
