Retired at 403,000 KM

Well, I have finally hung up the Astro keys for the last time. The old girl was getting to the point where I was spending more time and money just keeping her on the road than what a newer vehicle would cost. It kinda felt strange knowing that this past wed would be the last day I would be taking her into work with me and even my co-workers had a hard time believing I was going to retire the stro, lol. Anyways, just cause the old girl is parked doesn't mean I intend to go anywhere so you'll be stuck with me for awhile yet.
Now the plan is to strip out what I have inside.. like my stereo and tools and such and then grab a couple parts off it. I had just bought a new EGR valve about a month back and if anyone is looking to get a good deal on one for their van then send me a pm ( they are anywhere from $250-$350 can ) depending on where you buy them or who you know ( this is for a 95 astro ) but like I said if you're looking for one give me a shout and I'll give you a very good deal. If anyone is looking for 4.10 gears with a powertrax no-slip ( and you are fairly local ) then maybe you'd like to buy the van for cheap and scrounge all the parts you need off it. I also have an almost new Michelin Latitude X-Ice tire ( mounted on the stock aluminum rim ) currently on the rear passenger with approx 3,000 km on it. I'll have the van for about another 2 weeks at the most so if you're interested in anything let me know.

So, for those wondering what I replaced it with ( I don't have any pics yet ) I purchased an 07 Jeep Liberty which I found up in Potskie's neck of the woods. :canuk:

a sad day to be sure. One of my jeeps is destined for the junk yard very soon. I got 183K miles out of it. I'd say I got my money's worth. May your Liberty last as long

Definitely a sad day here at ASV. I still haven't replaced my 'stro yet.

You will like the Liberty, but you will miss the interior room. We have the sister to the Liberty, the Nitro, and we miss the room on trips. Overall I like the little rig a lot!

Can you still be an administrator when you do not own a van? :-k

Very sad day, indeed. I know the feeling, I've been the last user of almost all of my dozens of beaters over the years. Since I typically own a few of the same vehicle at a time, I usually keep them around for a few years to scrounge parts, and then scrap out what's left.

Would you be interested in selling the powertax alone? I could send a set of spiders if you don't have a set anymore.

Its all good... They both have owned astro/safari's. As long as they continue to run this site I'll be happy. The SPB is what inspired me to build mine, haven't been happier. Jacking the thread... I apologize. Have a happy Astro Retirement Zam.
