An interesting little vid on what the goals for one grade 4 class in Japan are...its definitely not what the average western person would think and yet after seeing the vid you'll understand perfectly why all kids regardless of where they live in this world need to learn this. http://www.wimp.com/homeroomteacher/

MOST excellent. That is such a different culture. Is it any wonder that the Asians do so well in life.
Thanks, ZAM. \:D/

Glad you guys liked it.
All too often ( as a society ) we try to discourage talk of death or disease with children feeling that perhaps its too serious a topic or that they won't understand. That vid makes it clear children do need to be able to discuss how they feel about those subjects because until they do, they will always hold those feelings in and therefore can't really go forward with learning to be happy, its a pretty simple concept really and sure beats them waiting till they are adults to learn to deal with those feelings.

i saw a segment out how we tend to separate ourselves from death but that inhibits our ability to live. i think one of the reason parents avoid talking about death with children is because we don't know much about it ourselves so when they start asking questions that parents don't have the answer to it feels uncomfortable.
