Unlike North Carolina, there are very few "drive-on" beaches in Canada - this one is near Risser's Beach, Nova Scotia from our 2008 trip...If you know of any more, please post!

It's been years, but Wasaga (sp) beach on Georgian bay used to be a drive on beach.Maybe Zam who goes there could tell us if it still is.It is about a hr North of Toronto. The thing I remember about it was sandy beach that you could wade out forever with sand bars that never let it get too deep.Great place for kids with rides and auctions at night for parents.

I haven't been out this way in years but apparently you can still camp on the beaches out near Jordan River on Vancouver Island.
You used to be able to drive and camp on Long Beach but they stopped that years ago.

I think you are a brave man taking your 2wd Astro on the beach! :muhaha:

(I remember taking my 2wd Toyota pickup on the beach in Georgia somewhere... I also remember digging it out in the dark!)

I know, it depends on the consistency of the sand. I've seen every type of vehicle driving on the beach in Daytona, and I remember dad taking the Charger out on the beack at Long Beach (WA).

I'm pretty sure that they have put the brakes on driving along wasaga for awhile now, at least the parts which are part of the provincial park. The only beach I ever drove along was just outside of Glace Bay N.S when I was around 16-17. It was called Lin Gan (sp) or something like that, and was basically a spit of land that separated the ocean from a back bay.

The beach you were on is Crescent Beach ,I live near Bridgewater ,I take my van and trailer on the beach and get Irish moss for my garden and I watched a guy kite karting on it. I am amazed that weare still allowed to drive on it.
