Who here has used it and is familiar with the program?
I've started messing around with it and I have a question!
Across the top of the window, just left of the Datalogger button there is a little box with a number that sometimes changes green and red.
What does that mean?
WINALDL

Re: WINALDL
As far as I can tell it is supposed to be green with a reading of 20. Something to do with the amount of bytes received. 20 being the correct amount. Red and lower numbers means it is not interacting correctly.

Re: WINALDL
I am running it on Windows XP, but it's an older laptop that has both USB and Serial ports. I'm using the serial port just because I could build the cable myself, which was cheaper than buying the usb cable. I have noticed that I have to start the program with the cable unplugged, then after WINALDL is open, I can connect the interface cable. If I start the program with the cable already connected I get an error message for the serial port.
Have you tried starting with the cable unplugged? Or am I not understanding your question correctly?

Mild topic hijack/sidetrack:
Does anyone know where to buy the MALE ALDL connectors?
ie the connector that would go on the end of a homebrew
cable that plugs into the female, underdash ALDL connector?
I find that alligator clips aren't great at staying connected
to the underdash connector.

Re: WINALDL
It never occurred to me to try that. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give that a try.6spd_monte wrote:I am running it on Windows XP, but it's an older laptop that has both USB and Serial ports. Re: WINALDL
I soldered the end of my wires to make them stiff. They plug right into the ALDL connections and stay put.Lumpy wrote:Mild topic hijack/sidetrack:
