Volksfest 2010 in Moxee, WA - Pics!

Post by mdmead »

I took the family out to the Volksfest at the park in Moxee today. Turnout seemed down from last year, but given the rainy weather this weekend, I guess that isn't surprising. Still some cool VWs showed up though.

OK, I know this isn't a VW. But since this is ASV, I know you guys want to see it! Don't know who owns it, but I left a card with our website hoping he might check us out.

OK, the VWs. Bugs first.

My daughter saw this one in the parking lot and decided she wanted it since it was pink. She thinks a VW is going to be her first car. Seven years away.... maybe!

This Baja actually looked like it might get used. Liked the small winch on the front.

This is the only Karmann Ghia I recall seeing and it was in the parking lot. Super nice though!

And one NEW Volkswagen!

(Hey, it is the 'newest' VW I have any interest in. And make mine a diesel!)

There certainly were more cars out there, but I'd taken pics of some of them before so tried to skip them this time.

Well, believe it or not, it IS coming along. No, I haven't been working on the van, but it is only one of dozens of projects. I'm making decent progress on remodeling our house, been getting some yard projects completed, and even got the boat running. I do need to move the van project up the list... and that may happen this fall/winter.

I know, not the answer you wanted to hear. But I can assure you that the idea of selling or scrapping the van project has NEVER been considered.

P.S. My dad has mentioned they are considering selling and downsizing... since my van is prominently parked in his shop, that action would light a fire under me to at least get the subframe lift welded in so I could easily move it!

i live in the mt hood oregon area, not sure where moxee is but wa is pretty close. anyways i always see this old vw van that is done up real nice and kinda a deep candy apple red color with a miniature replica, on a trailer, bigger than the tan one you have pictured. any chance you saw that one there? ive always wondered if the replica was motorized, it looks like it might be a go-cart conversion but its allways on the highway never seen it parked anywhere that i could look at it.
99 SLT Safari AWD, G80/GT4 rear, Burgundy, 196,000 and counting (strictly AMSOIL) flowmaster 40series muffler no more cat, K&N Kone Filter, roll pan, 255/60/15 rubbers mounted to 15x8.5 inch American Racing Tailgunner wheels, billet grille, CB Radio, Alpine Deck, Shag carpet, the list goes on....
03 Chevy Silverado 2500HD, LB7 Duramax Diesel, 5 speed Allison Tranny, Crew Cab Long Bed, no muffler or cat, 4 inch turbo back and side piped. not too many other mods yet, also addicted to AMSOIL.

Moxee is about 5 miles east of Yakima

No, the van you mentioned wasn't there. I'd have remembered it, and taken a pic of it too! Sounds lke a cool set of vans.
