I saw this report several days ago. BUSTED! What a bunch of idiots. It's really kind of offensive when you think about it. These guys have great paying jobs and are screwing around, endangering lives of their co-workers, people they meet on the street coming back from 'lunch', not to mention potential new car owners down the road. There are thousands of out of work autoworkers that deserve these jobs more than these losers.

Well, I'll admit I'm not a fan of many unions, and the UAW is right at the top of my list! But I'm sure even the union doesn't condone this type of behavior from its members.

A long time friend of mine got a job at the Cadilac Plant when we were about 20 yrs old. One day after he'd been working there for about three years, he asked if I wanted to go watersking behind his new ski boat about 2pm. He had bought a house right across from a boat launch on a lake. His new Corvette sat in the garage.

I asked if he was working midnights or weeknds or something: how can you go skiiing at 2pm on a Tuesday? He explained the system to me:

One guy can do what both he and his coworker are assigned to do everyday. So they both go to work in the mornings, then clock out for lunch. They both clock back in after lunch and everyone can see that they are there. But then he will sneak out and go home and his coworker will do all the work and clock him out at the end of the day. he will go water skiing or whatever. The following day, his coworker will go home early and he will do all the work for the two fo them and then clock out his coworker at the end of the day. They do it all the time.

I asked alarmingly "what about your foreman?"

He very matter of factly replied, "oh, he'll be driving the boat".

No shit.

Good friend and drag race buddy Mark Shiflery(sp) was a committeeman for the U.A.W. 774 at the Chevy plant one engine plant Tonn,NY.He was supposed to work the first two hours and then be on call for any union business. Now this yrs ago in the late 70's.On a Sat working day shift for time and a haft he arranged to have another committeeman clock him out for lunch and back in and then out for the day after he worked the first two hrs.The problem Mark had was Mark was involved in a serious crash in his "Time and Money" drag corvette flipping it over 8 times at a Canadian drag race track while he was still on the clock at the Plant and the crash damm near killed him.He was taken to a Canadian hospital and stayed there for about two weeks and then was mercy flighted to Buffalo,NY where he was there for months. We never got a straight answer how,but Mark went back to work after he recovered for his serious head injury at the same job he had before the crash.Mark lost a whole yr's memory because of the head injury and never got it back.

Why are they leaving a fully self-contained facility in the first place.

Lunch... Pack it in, or Buy it from the lunch room.

You ain't goin outside until you day is done... Simple.
