Heater fan
So, low and behold, the fan stopped working...Ran a jumper to the fan, it fired right up...So, I figured, it's an '93, the switch died, got one from the local donor yard, it didn't help...Oops. So, I look for current behind the switch, it's live on every lead from the switch outbound...I got the fan working on all but high position...it appears the lead is HOT. Looked all through the, I think it's a Clymer, doesn't flippin' show the heater or switch...go figure! any thoughts?
thanks
Hey, didn't there used 2 B a "burn rubber" smiley...?

Re: Heater fan
High speed is controlled by a relay on the engine side of the firewall, just above the blower motor. Sadly, there are no aftermarket ones that will work. You MUST buy them from the stealership, about $13.

Re: Heater fan
Sorry, astroturf, but there are only two wires going to the blower -- one ground and one power. There is NO high-speed wiring.

Re: Heater fan
Ok Thanks Squid
How about the the high speed wire to the resistor then? (from the switch)
Just guessing?

Re: Heater fan
Once again, the high speed for the blower is controlled through the high speed relay located on the engine side of the firewall just above the blower motor.

Re: Heater fan
No, I know this from experience. I've replaced the blower motor, the fan, and the High-Speed relay. Without the relay, there is NO high speed, but the other speeds run nicely. Visual inspection will reveal that there are only two wires going to the blower motor -- the ground wire and the power wire.
