2000 LT AWD 143,xxx miles.
At idle there is a pretty loud sound, sounds like a vacuum leak, sounds like this "beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep". Tap the gas and it goes away until it returns to idle. No codes. I plan to look a little closer when I get a chance to tear into it.
Any ideas? Common reasons for this sound?
Loud sound coming from engine. Sounds like a vacuum leak.

If you have A/C,I suggest you check the vac lines for that.

After removing the dog house again I noticed the sound is coming from the fuel injector connector area. Move it or cover it with your hand and the sound changes. I was told you have to remove the intake manifold to replace the o ring. Is this true? Spraying brake clean all around the area does not result in a raise of the idle.
Edit: After some research the item I am referring to is the fuel injector plug. Not the injector its self.

Check the rubber connector that connects the hard line to the PCV.

The pcv is in the front passenger side of the intake manifold, correct? The noise is 4 times as loud inside the van with the dog house off. We pulled the hose off the pcv and plugged up both sides. Very little sound coming from either.Smiliesafari wrote:Check the rubber connector that connects the hard line to the PCV.
